Your fleet. Your frontier.

From orbit, the camera falls past a blue planet onto the hex sector and settles over the home station.

01 Arrival

You start with one station on the edge of a persistent hex galaxy.

02 Your side

Choose your side.

Three factions race for the same frontier. In the game you choose once a round; here, fly for each of them in turn.

  • VantarTake the initiative. An aggressive faction, the Remnant: raids carry off more and fleets hit harder on the attack.Raids carry off moreMore firepower on the attack

Meridian Worth Defending

A Meridian commander wants a frontier that pays for itself. A rival can take whatever the fleets cannot reach in time, and every hull lost has to be built again.

03 Industry

Build what keeps you going.

Meridian stations earn a tenth more. Refineries, Mining Works and the mines on the fields next door feed the yards.

The home station grows its refineries, a light shipyard and Mining Works, and mining facilities rise beside the fields next door, drones shuttling from the fields.

04 Light yard

Keep the fleets full.

The light yard turns out scouts, corvettes, Disruptors and frigates, and at its eighth level the colony ship a stronghold needs.

The light shipyard's cradle forges a scout, a corvette, a Disruptor, a frigate and a colony ship.

05 Strike

Hit hard without the capitals.

A light fleet travels faster, and under a Fleet Admiral a fleet without capital ships fires harder. The Disruptor's ion charge breaks the camp's shield.

A light fleet with a Disruptor at its head strikes a Marauder camp; the Disruptor's ion charge breaks the camp's shield.

06 Ember Maw

Worth defending.

A colony ship aboard the assault takes the Ember Maw. It scores only while you hold it, and when a rival comes for it, the light fleets get there first.

The assault takes the Ember Maw over its gas giant; when a rival fleet comes for it, the light fleets reach it first and the rival breaks off.

07 Recovery

Nothing wasted.

After a fight your side survives, its Menders bring back up to half of each class it lost. The Maw's hold scores its Victory Point.

The Mender works among the frigates lost at the Maw, and two of the four are drawn up whole again.

Vantar The Return

A Vantar commander wants an offensive that pays for itself. Every expedition must come home with more than it cost, and a heavy return can still be caught.

03 Heavy yards

Steel first.

Every building raises the station. The Remnant builds the yards that make the hammer, and a plunder office to count what comes home.

The home station grows a heavy shipyard, a capital shipyard and a plunder office.

04 Hammer

Forge the hammer.

Destroyers, cruisers, bombers, battleships, a titan. An Anchor and a Latch join the line.

The heavy hulls on the cradle one after another: destroyer, cruiser, bomber, battleship, titan.

05 Expedition

Choose the target. Weigh the return.

Vantar raids carry off more, and a Veteran Strategist loads more than the holds should take. Haulers fly with the raid.

A raid on a Marauder camp with haulers in the fleet, ordered by hand.

06 Iron Crown

Break the garrison.

Vantar fleets hit harder on the attack, and the Anchor keeps the enemy in the fight. The colony ship aboard takes the Crown before its garrison regrows.

The assault on the Iron Crown: the Anchor keeps the enemy in the fight, the garrison breaks, and the colony ship aboard takes it.

07 Return

Make every return count.

After the fight the Latch claims the enemy's wrecks, and the loaded haulers head home.

The Latch claims the enemy's wrecks, and the loaded haulers head home.

Kessari Before the Border

A Kessari commander wants to know the ground before claiming it. A raid lands on whatever was left unprepared, and moving too early wastes the fleet.

03 Survey

See first.

Kessari stations see two hexes further and build for a tenth less. The relay beacon four hexes out and a Scanner Array widen the ring; probes watch past its edge.

The home station's sight widens hex by hex over the dim frontier: the relay beacon's hex is taken, a Scanner Array lands, and three probes go out past the edge.

04 Outposts

Claim what you have seen.

Outposts go up beside the moons past home's ground, a level for every load the haulers carry out. A dome adds crew; a mining colony, metal and crystal.

Haulers shuttle from home to two outposts beside the nearby moons, a Habitation Dome and a Mining Colony, each rising level by level.

05 Prepare

Ready before they come.

Weavers mine every attacker at the station, and under a Border Marshal their mines fire twice. An Aegis raises its barrier.

At home, three Weavers unfold their mines round the fortress and an Aegis raises its barrier.

06 The raid

Worth the wait.

A Vantar raid lands on the home. The mines fire twice before the first volley, the Aegis barrier takes the fire, and the station's guns break the raid.

A Vantar raid comes in on the home and breaks: the mines fire twice, the Aegis barrier takes its volleys and the station's guns finish it.

07 Rime Spire

Make every move count.

A stronghold's garrison is public, so the assault is planned: the fleet breaks the garrison, then the colony ship comes in and takes the Spire.

The strike force breaks the Rime Spire's public garrison, then a colony ship comes in and takes the Spire.

The round ends with your side's victory, its stronghold ringed in gold.
